World Famous Gannett Colony

15 Minute Walk

Visit the comings and goings of the busy Muriwai Gannet Colony. Take your camera just a short way through the bush or over the beach.

Surf School

3 Minute Walk

A kiwi owned and operated surf school is located only 1 minutes walk from the beach where lessons include both a surfboard and wetsuit. Also available to rent are surf boards, wetsuits and even blo-karts on a windy day.

Muriwai All-Weather Golf

2 Minute Drive

Play a true links course offering all year round golfing with the most spectacular views over the Tasman Sea. Dry underfoot in the winter and thoroughly irrigated in the summer for perfect conditions.

Bush Walks

In walking distance

Take a variety of bush walks straight from our door step. You can enjoy a 10 minute walk through the native forest to a scenic look out, or plan a longer tramp e.g. The Hillary Trail or Goldie Bush Scenic Reserve track, through coastal Kauri forest and the impressive Mokoroa Falls. Horse Riding Track

There are two Take Away / Cafes in walking distance, or just 9km up the road in Waimauku you'll find the local supermarket, alongside cafes and restaurants. Spoil yourself in the award winning restaurant The Tasting Shed, they can even drive you back to Muriwai if requested.
