Pohutukawa Beach B&B is operated by Christine & Jörg Prinz. In 1990, Jörg and his family moved to New Zealand from Germany and settled on the shores of the Bay of Plenty. Jörg has been working as a medical doctor at Whakatane Hospital for a few years until he decided to have a major change. He had his own tour company, Prinz Tours, for 15 years offering trips for groups all around New Zealand. In 2005 he established the Energy Health Clinic

In 2008 Christine joined him with her children Sam, Rebecca, Reuben and Fleur. Jörg's sons, Johannes and Lennart, are now grown up and live their own life, so do Sam, Rebecca and Reuben.

Over the years, Jörg has traveled extensively throughout New Zealand as tour guide on organised tours. It is his profession to share his enthusiasm for New Zealand's nature, culture, beauty and history with visitors from around the world. He knows what it means to have a home from home and endeavour to make your stay at Beach B&B a comfortable and memorable one. The Tour Guiding has now taken a step backwards as the clinic warrants all his attention. He can still advise travellers and help organise their holidays down under.

The farm is a 14 ha organic cattle farm, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
